The small intestine is the largest internal organs in the body. Small intestine is often called the smallest between the two intestines. However, if you will carefully look at your intestine, it is basically four times as long as an average adult. In order to the keep intestine fit inside the abdomen, it is no wonder why they are looped back and forth that way.
The human heart can generate adequate pressure squirting 30 feet blood. The heart is one of the major organs in the body. It can generate pressure enough for it to distribute blood throughout the body. Keeping them well-supplied of oxygen, as their primary source of food, without it, other organs cannot survive.
Human stomach is very acidic that it can possibly dissolve anything else. The acid that is responsible for this is commonly called the Hydrochloric Acid (HCL). They normally exist in your stomach, which functions in food digestion and protecting the stomach against harmful chemicals. You don’t need to ingest a non-food thing just to prove that your stomach can actually liquefy them. Many studies have been conducted and proved that HCL can actually dissolve metals.
The human body contains thousands of blood vessels that it can reach for about 60,000 miles. If you try to visualize the distance around the earth, it in an average of about 25,000 miles while your blood vessel could travel twice around the earth if place end to end.
Your stomach lining shed off every three to four days. Because of acids present in the stomach, the mucus-like cells lining the stomach walls diminished, not unless it is continuously replaced. This can then result to ulcer. Imagine how painful it can be when stomach acids acts directly on your stomach lining.
The tennis court is equivalent to the surface area of a human lung. In order to supply adequate oxygen throughout the body, the lungs containing tiny grapelike alveoli and hundreds of branching bronchi must receive enough blood oxygenation to work efficiently. Lungs are made up of microscopic capillaries where oxygenation takes place. Thus, lungs need to occupy larger surface area making blood oxygenation much possible.
Women’s heart pumps much faster than men’s. This is because women on average tend to be smaller than men, which has lesser blood mass to pump. Women’s heart act differently than men especially when having a heart attack. That’s why men and women should be individualized in terms of the amount of medication they need, making sure that it will work perfectly for them.
Liver is beneficial to every human being; in fact it has more than 500 unique functions. Liver is vital to life. Several functions include biotransformation, filtration of harmful chemicals including alcohol and nicotine, breaking down of medication, production of bile, plasma protein synthesis and detoxification. It is one of the hardest, biggest and busiest working organs in the body.
The diameter of the aorta, the largest artery, is virtually a garden hose. On average, an adult heart is nearly the size of two fists, making the size of the aorta totally extraordinary. It is ideal for the aorta to be that large, as it serves as the main provider of oxygenation throughout the body.
In order to make room for the heart, the left lung is normally created smaller than the right lung. Since we were children, we used to believe that both lungs are equally structured. However, it is due to the heart, which is primarily located slightly on the left side of the ribcage, crowding the poor left lung.
You can still survive even you remove a large part of your internal organs. It is possible that one can live even if other body organs have been removed due to health risk such as the stomach, the spleen, 80 percent of the intestine, 75 percent of the lover, one lung, one kidney, ovaries and other organs located in the groin and pelvic area. You may feel too conscious about yourself, but at least you can still live with curtailed body organs.
Adrenal glands vary in shape and sizes throughout life. The adrenal glands are normally located above the kidneys. They secrete hormones such as adrenaline and cortisol. These hormones are released during stressful situation keeping the body in equilibrium. When you were only seven months as a fetus, your adrenal gland is the size as the kidneys. During birth, the glands begin to reduce in size and will continue throughout life. When one gets old, it is difficult to locate the glands as they are too small to be palpated.
